My mom does the same thing with my tumblr blog! It let's me know she cares, with occasional lovely advice of course! (and bee-tee-dubbs you have a beautiful daughter!)
I love that we can keep contact with our loved ones this way! Beings as neither my daughte nor I like talking on the phone. plus you get to SEE what's happening! She's beautiful Anna Maria!
I remember experimenting with hair and makeup in fashion school -- I don't think my mom cared for it too much! I do love your daughter's hair dark better, though! Sigh!
Your daughter is lovely and her hair is very creative. I remember when my son was in college he sent me a series of photos, the 1st showed he had a mohawk, the 2nd showed that it was blue - both were from the front and looked like the sides were slicked down (keep in mind, my son was very conservative up to this point), the 3rd was from the side - and he had a bright blue mohawk! Even better, he was supposed to pick my Mom up the next day to bring her to my Guild's quilt show (and I was president of the Guild). I had always told him I didn't care what he did with his hair - it was just hair and would grow out (I was such a 60s child!) but with this in front of me I wanted to swallow my tongue! Instead, I took a deep breath and commented that it was quite colorful. When he showed up the next day at the quilt show with Oma he had a baseball hat on, much to my relief - and then he reached up to take it off - my heart stopped! - and he had shaved his hair quite close to his head - no mohawk, no blue! whew!
I have friends who've done what Suz's son did; dye their hair, cut it into a mohawk, and send pictures to their parents to freak them out. For a while, I put purple streaks in my hair. My parent said, "you have to live with it. We just have to look at it." To be honest, I've never understood this stereotype against bright hair dye; it can be done in a pretty manner and has no bearance on personal manners.
